French Opportunities

OSEF France Canada – Organisme Sejours Educatifs Francais
 
OSEF France Canada, a non-profit association, has been offering one month and three month exchange opportunities to students in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the Maritimes for the last 15 years.  This year they have more than 650 French students who have registered for the 2010 -2011 program, and they want more students!
 
For students 13 to 17 years old!  Discover France – Attend a French school – Experience the French language and culture. – Host your exchange partner from August to November and live with your French family from February to the end of April. - Make new fiends and add an international dimension to your family life and your school. – The cost of the exchange program is $3800.

Saskatchewan – Québec 6 Month Student Exchange Program
Saskatchewan Grade 10 students are invited to apply to the Saskatchewan-Québec Six Month Student Exchange Program 2011-2012, comprised of a three-month stay in Saskatchewan and a three-month stay in Québec.  This exchange takes place when the students are in Grade 11.  There is room for about 20 students from various school divisions across the province.  If you are interested in this program please see your career/guidance counsellor before February 15, 2011 – the deadline for the school to show interest!
 
Live the Action on the Hill as a PAGE (Deadline:  January 7, 2011)

 The House of Commons Page Program is a unique learning opportunity steeped in Canadian tradition.  Each year, 40 bilingual students from across Canada are chosen to come live the action on Parliament Hill in Ottawa by assisting Members of Parliament and other House Officials with their work in the House of Commons.

 
Explore (5-Week French-Language Bursary Program)
 Enjoy five weeks of learning, adventure, friendship and discovery in another region of Canada while learning French.  Is is an exceptional program that will assist the beginner, intermediate and advanced French speaking individual.  Great opportunity for students who want to pursue their post-secondary education in French or to become a French Immersion teacher as well.

Summer Work Exchange Program

This summer program runs for six weeks and is aimed at students who are 16 and 17 years of age.  The goal of the program is for participants to find jobs in another province to work on their second official language.  Participants will be set up with a host family over the course of the program.  Don’t wait – register now!

Forum for Young Canadians

Are you between the ages of 15 and 19 with an interest in how the Canadian parliamentary system of government functions?  This program gives students from all across Canada a chance to come to Ottawa to learn about the role of Parliament and the dynamics of the decision-making process.  The application deadline is November 15.  For more information check out the website or email forum@forum.ca.
