Athletics
Interested in playing athletics while going to school? Interested in becoming recruited? Below are a few things to consider in order to begin the recruitment process.
Checklist:
- Make a list of all the schools you wish to attend, research names, addresses and phone numbers.
- Write a one page letter/email to the coaches; introduce yourself and let them know of your intentions; briefly tell them about 3 or 4 of your athletic accomplishments (highlights/honours) from your most recent season; why you enjoy competing in your sport; how will you benefit the team you are writing to: Remember 1st impressions are crucial!
- Create a player profile that includes a list of the teams you’ve played for, including a list of accomplishments, honors, highlights. a list of the coaches’ names and phone numbers. Your profile should follow your letter and should include all factual information. Be prepared to have videotape of your abilities if the coach asks for one.
- When you have been noticed by a school they will sendyou a questionnaire to fill out. Fill it out and return it quickly!
